"Take care of your shoes, and your shoes will take care of you."

"Take care of your shoes, and your shoes will take care of you."

Anyone who uses tools for a living knows what the cost of cheap tools really is. They slow you down and compromise the quality of your work. logger Work boots are just another tool, and no less critical to your performance on the job.
So are these heavy-duty, steel-toed clod hoppers any GOOD? Well, that depends...
Is it hot where you're working? Because these boots are well insulated, and aren't going to breathe much. Are you hoping to come home from work, feeling like you've been walking on a cloud all day? Despite a good pair of insoles and an optional extra layer of foam, you're still doing hard work in heavyish boots with a metal toe and thick sole, and there'll be no mistaking that reality at the end of the day. But do they offer adequate protection? Definitely. The leather upper is soft and supple, but tough, and affords you some additional defense above your ankles. Do you work in a wet environment? If you need to keep water out of your boots, these will do the job. Just keep in mind that waterproofing typically reduces breathability, and you'll find that sweat doesn't get a chance to do its evaporative duty. Depending on the outside temperature, you may end up with wet feet regardless.

The laces are standard boot issue, and come with no surprises. But the WAY those laces hold the boot on is a big deal: rather than eyelets, these boots opt for hooks that DRASTICALLY reduce on/off time. I probably wouldn't even bother wearing a boot without them now that I've been spoiled.

In all, I like these boots, even if they're designed to favor certain work environments, rather than a general, all-purpose work boot. The price is appropriate for the construction and quality.
