The first question to be answered if you work in wet conditions is “ how waterproof are the deck boots?”. The site claims 100%, the test is to submerge the boots ( below the top opening) for 12 hours , if they remain dry they are waterproof. I actually did this, I had to weigh them down because they are relatively lightweight. These boots are 100% waterproof. As the photos show, the outsole design is water channeling and has enough flexibility in each of the squares to “grab” deck and docks even when wet. The upper is flexible and the black panels at the ankle are more flexible than the upper to facilitate putting them on, also the pull tabs front and back and a little “ block” on the back of the heel to help kick them off. The inside lining is a weave that looks and feels durable and is sewn in Along the floor of the boot and up the back. The removable insole is a star in its own right, they feel like athletic shoe insoles and the cover material is sewn to the dual material bottom which has extra cushion at the heel. This is the same insole as in the other pair of work-boots I reviewed from Sureway and those boots were also top quality. If you need a pair of waterproof boots to wear comfortably all day this product is highly recommended and is an outstanding value for the price.

You don't have to be sailing to wear deck shoes nor do you have to be big-water fishing to appreciate these comfortable foul-weather deck boots. They are super sturdy and easy to get on and off with a big rear tab and orthotic insole. They are comfortable to walk around in and offer good toe protection and feel good even after standing for extended periods on an ocean pier or Great Lakes concrete jetty casting for salmon and trout. I would recommend them for cooler temperatures for the most part because they absolutely block moisture as you'd expect from a rubber boot. If you spend every season outdoors you'll find myriad occasions to pull these on whenever wet conditions become a factor - even if you never fish at all. I chose the grey ones in the suggested size and they look and fit great. These boots will serve for a long time and never look clumsy or shoddy doing so.
